Some notes

I just learned that I can use wordpress with my website so I'm going to convert to that very soon.

I recently downloaded a bunch of brushes and some gradients and patterns for photoshop and I have to say I am impressed. Instantly it looks like I'm a much better designer with much less work. I didn't even know there were noise gradients in photoshop. If you've never heard of them I suggest you check them out, they look really awesome as skys, or random spiral things.

I've been working on a few freelance projects lately as well as seeking a job in the field. I had an interview with Petroglyph games, but they denied me. Their loss right? I'm going to try and contact them and find out why they didn't hire me, but I must keep moving on.

My freelance jobs are going pretty well. I'm designing an advertisement style web page for Duco Tehnologies Inc. and Doing some animation for an Australian guy. oDesk is a really helpful tool.

Not having a job in the field is rather frustrating. It makes me feel like I shouldn't be working on any personal projects, meanwhile all of my work is becoming more and more out dated I'm afraid. And I hate this catch-22 where you cant get a job unless you have experience, and you cant get experience without a job.

Ah well. I have an internship with a magazine right now so I guess that breaks the catch-22.

That's all for now. Just wanted to make an update to show that I update this at least once in a blue moon

Website version 2

A new version of my website is now up at http://www.tynation.com I'm very happy with it. All that's left now is to complete my large building scene, add a render to that to my gallery, and get the video of that rendered for my portfolio. My portfolio should be updated by Friday night.

Currently working on a new web page, I'm liking the design and look of it a lot more. Not only that, but it saves energy (yay for black).

Also adding some final touches to my demo reel. Should be ready to go live by next monday if all goes well. The website will go up probably 2 Mondays from now.

Damaged Goods

So I should probably mention that I've been working on a short film in 3d called Damaged Goods. We were originally planning on releasing it in hd720 but it seems that that's not going to be the case right now. We're a bit behind with the animation so we're going to be releasing it (for a grade) in 640x360. But we're going to continue tweaking it afterward to make it how we truly want it to be. hd720 or 1080 depending on what Gray feels like.
Once It's complete I will surely post it. It's been about 6 or 7 months in the making now. I'd just like to mention that my roles in this project were exterior modeling, and animating, and some scripted animations.
Mel scripting is fun to use. I've been working on a fan for another class - I'll post a video of that soon - and I made it work with scripts and such, its nifty.

Web comic idea

I have this idea to make a web comic. I want to try having video game characters doing normal things they do during video games talking about random things that normal people would talk about during normal life.

Example: There are 2 Blue Spartans on a bridge, one of them is covering one entrance and the other is sniping over the bridge. The one with a shot gun asks a philosophical question and the other answers, then pauses in the middle of his answer and shouts "BOOM HEADSHOT!" and then finishes answering. The last panel would probably be them getting nade spammed or something.

I want to have the conversations in game be relevant to things in real life, while throwing in comical game events or memes.

Earlier I was reminded of times when I was grinding in the Plain of Justice in EQ and we would talk about mundane things in life while fighting endless monsters, and it seems comically out of character when you look at it.

I'm gonna try to get this up and running on my website http://www.tynation.com afterward a cult following will be appropriate for myself.
